Breakfast Club 

Springwood Primary Academy Breakfast Club takes place in the school hall from 7:45 to 8:40 each morning. There is a selection of food choices which the pupils can choose from e.g. toast, cereal, bagels, fruit. After eating breakfast, pupils can choose from a selection of activities to engage in, including crafts, lego, reading, board games. 

Breakfast Club costs £3 per session and must be booked in advance. If you are interested in your child attending Breakfast Club, please speak with reception or email info@springwoodacademy.org for further information or to book a place. 

Lunchtime - Play leaders

Each lunchtime our Upper KS2 Play Leaders set up and support a range of fun activities for our younger pupils to enjoy. For example basketball, skipping, football shooting. They are fantastic role models, helping their peers to take turns, work as a team and learn new skills and games.

At Springwood Primary Academy, our core values (TEAMWORK > RESILIENCE > INDEPENDENT > COURAGE > KINDNESS) are at the heart of everything we do. In order to support positive play, equipment is organised into zones and playtime games are taught in PE. Our Corridor monitors provide positive praise to pupils moving around school well and remind pupils of expectations when required. 

After School Curricular Clubs

At Springwood Primary Academy, our dedicated staff are committed to supporting pupils to experience, and engage, in a wide range of opportunities, helping them to become well-rounded, confident and happy individuals. After-school clubs are varied to ensure that all pupils' interests are targeted. For example, dance, rounders, sewing, cooking, gardening, yoga. All pupils are actively encouraged to attend clubs and these are always very popular. Most of our after-school curricular clubs are provided free of charge. However, we do occasionally work with companies to provide a broader range of clubs (in-line with parent and pupil voice). These private providers do charge parents directly.  

After School Childcare Club

In order to meet the needs of our families, we also provide an after-school childcare facility Monday to Friday 3.15 - 5:45pm. FS1, FS2 and KS1 pupils are escorted into the school hall by a member of staff at the end of the school day; KS2 pupils move through school into the hall at 3.15pm where a register is taken. Once at the after-school childcare club, a snack and drink is provided. For example, toast, biscuit, fruit, followed by pupils being able to access a range of activities including arts and crafts, den-building, role-play, construction, board games. The club leaders facilitate and support these activities. 

The Childcare club costs £8 per session and must be booked in advance. If you are interested in your child joining the after-school childcare club, then please speak to reception or email info@springwoodacademy.org for further information or to book a place for your child.
