SEND
"Pupils enjoy coming to this inclusive and nurturing school. The school ensures that every pupil receives the individual support they need. Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) make good progress through the curriculum because of how well learning is adapted to meet their needs. Pupils achieve well."
Ofsted Inspection, May, 2025
"It has been a breath of fresh air working with Springwood Primary. Your school has invested in training to help improve your already amazing inclusive approach. You have been quick to identify children that need a 1.1 level of support from us and have followed our suggested support. You are a school who goes above and beyond to get it right for all children. You are not just inclusive for the children with additional needs, you are inclusive to all children."
Lindsey Waugh, Strategic Lead Outreach Team, 2025
Our Vision
At Springwood Primary Academy, we believe every child is unique, valued, and capable of achieving success. Our vision is to create an inclusive, nurturing environment where children with special educational needs and disabilities are supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are committed to working in partnership with families, staff, and the wider community to remove barriers to learning, celebrate individual strengths, and ensure that all pupils have access to rich, meaningful opportunities.
Through high expectations, personalised support, and a culture of kindness and respect, we aim to empower every child to grow in confidence, independence, and aspiration—preparing them for a bright and fulfilling future.
The Academy’s Local Governing Body has a legal duty to publish the SEND Information Report on their website about the implementation of Springwood Junior Academy’s policy for pupils with SEND.
The Academy’s SEND Information Report is part of the Rotherham Local Offer for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). The Local Offer can be found using the following link [ https://www.rotherhamsendlocaloffer.org.uk/ ].
